Winnipeg Empowerment and Boudoir Photography
The Evolution
of Self
Self /self/
Personal Reclamation · Body · Worthiness · Truth
The Evolution of Self is the inward journey. A return to the parts of you that were quieted, softened, or set aside while you carried everyone else.
This empowerment portrait experience draws you back into yourself, into your self expression, and into the version of you that no longer asks for permission to exist fully. Through guided boudoir and empowerment photography sessions, the focus is not on performance or posing, but on recognition that is entirely your own.
You are not becoming someone new but returning to the person beneath the calibrated versions. The one you set down at the door before walking into every room. When your body feels safe enough to unmask, that is the version I am here to see and to show you.
Shed the personas you've spent years performing.
Most people arrive here carrying the weight of expectations that accumulated so gradually they became invisible. Years of adjusting, calibrating, and showing up as whoever the room required, until the original version of you got buried somewhere underneath all of it.
My self-gaze approach is where that begins to lift. Not through performance or posing, but through the rare experience of being truly seen without agenda, without direction, and without an audience to perform for. This is photography grounded in stillness, in safety, and in the unhurried process of letting what is real rise to the surface.
Strength without spectacle.
The shift that happens here doesn't fade when you leave. It settles into your bones, changes how you carry yourself, and follows you back into every room you walk into. My clients don't just see the difference after this experience. They live it.
HOW WE EVOLVE YOUR SELF
HOW WE EVOLVE YOUR SELF
01. BEFORE THE CAMERA
Before you arrive at the studio, we start with a zero pressure consultation. I want to know your story, what brought you here, and what you're hoping to walk away with. That conversation shapes everything from the direction of your session, the mood we're building toward, and the level of support you need on the day. We'll also talk through what to wear so you arrive feeling prepared and confident in your choices rather than second-guessing yourself at the door. You don't need to have it figured out. That's what I’m here for!
02. IN THE STUDIO
Your photoshoot day includes professional hair and makeup, a fully guided shoot, and more laughing than you'd expect. I direct every pose, every transition, every look so you won't spend a single moment wondering what to do with your hands. The session moves at your pace, not a predetermined one, and if something isn't working we stop, shake it out, and find what does. The images that stop you in your tracks are never the ones where you were trying. They're the ones where you forgot to.
03. THE REVEAL
Right after your photoshoot, we sit down together and go through your images. You see them before any editing has touched them, exactly as you appeared in the room. That's intentional. You carry the evidence of a life fully lived in your face, your body, your bearing, and this is not a space where any of that gets sanded down in pursuit of someone else's idea of polished. We move through your images slowly, with no rushing and no pressure. You select what resonates, and we talk through any albums or artwork you want to create. Most clients go quiet at some point in this room. Some laugh. Some cry. All of them leave seeing themselves differently.
04. AFTER THE SESSION
Your fully edited images are delivered within 2 to 3 weeks, ready to be printed, shared, or simply kept somewhere you'll see them on the days you need them most. Any albums or artwork you've ordered arrive 2 to 3 weeks after that, handmade in Toronto, ON and worth the wait. Most clients describe going back to their lives with a different kind of steadiness after this experience. A clearer sense of themselves, like someone finally cleaned their glasses and the fog they'd been moving through simply lifted.

Absolutely. It’s not your job to know how to pose it’s mine to guide you. In fact every photo you see on my website are people I have posed. I’ll direct you every step of the way so you never feel unsure or alone in front of the camera. Most clients say they’re surprised by how natural it all feels.

Often we hold a lot of value in our weight, myself included, and it is my mission to show you that you are more than the size of your clothes and number on your scale and you are worthy of being photographed. My work centers around my clients embracing their TRUE selves, as they are RIGHT now in this moment. I know it can be nerve wracking and damn well scary to see yourself in portrait form but this is why we go through your images TOGETHER and work through those feelings. My editing style is light as a standard, but I do adjust distracting things like rogue straps and hair.

If you think you’re the only one who feels selfish, conceited, even borderline narcissistic when it comes to having photos taken of you, you’re not. And when that ever common question comes up I simply say, who are you not to? You have the BEST reason to do this! YOU! Even if you do have someone in your life that might be interested in seeing your images, that’s up to you. The majority of my clients do this for themselves and it’s an added bonus if they have someone to share with. You don’t just deserve heirloom quality images of yourself when they’re for someone else. You deserve them at all times for YOU

As a photographer this breaks my heart every time I hear it. Some of our earliest photographic experiences (hello license and passport photos) have become core memories and become “proof” that all photos are horrible. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The real truth is that when you are given space to feel empowered and like your true self, you literally light up the room. It’s that light that I strive to capture in every portrait. So I ask you, what if you LOVE every photo?
